Stefan Roever-Chief Executive Officer
Stefan Roever has a broad entrepreneurial, software, and finance background. He was Co-Founder and CEO of Brokat Technologies, an encryption banking software company. Brokat reached a several billion dollar market cap and went public in 1998 on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and on NASDAQ in 2000. Mr. Roever was honored with the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Germany. He is an active private equity investor and currently serves as Chairman of WRS Materials, a roll-up of wafer reclaim companies. Mr. Roever also is a two time award holder of Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum. He earned degrees in both economics and law from the University of Tuebingen.

Roger Chen – Chief Technical Officer
Roger Chen has over 10 years of analog/mixed signal electronics experience. He worked at Maxim Integrated Products, an industry leader in analog semiconductors. At Maxim, Mr. Chen worked on a variety of low noise, high precision integrated circuits for use in notebook computers, cell phones, and storage area networks. He defined and launched over 50 integrated circuits that are currently in production today. In 2001, Mr. Chen left Maxim and later received his MS in Biochemistry from UC Santa Cruz. Mr. Chen also holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from MIT.

Pratima Rao – Chief Operating Officer
Pratima Rao held various senior management positions in both semiconductor and life science companies. At Maxim Integrated Products, she ran the Business Management and Applications Engineering groups for both the Fiber / High Speed Communications and the Standard Products business units. Prior to Genia, Ms. Rao worked at Affymetrix, where she had worldwide product marketing responsibility across the company’s DNA, RNA, instrumentation, and software products. She was honored with the YWCA Silicon Valley Woman of the Year award in 2002. Ms. Rao holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from Stanford.

Randy Davis – Vice President, Research and Development
Randy Davis has an extensive semiconductor and molecular biology background. He worked at National Semiconductor and Maxim Integrated Products in a variety of U.S. and Asia management positions in sales, marketing, and applications engineering. Mr. Davis pursued his molecular biology education in 2001 and went on to manage the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Microarray and Genomic Analysis Core Labs. Mr. Davis holds a MS degree in Biology and Business Administration and an AA degree in Electrical Engineering.

Hui Tian– Vice President of IC Design
Hui Tian has extensive sensor design and semiconductor engineering experience. He has held various senior design and engineering leadership positions at Aptina Imaging, InVisage Technologies, IC Media (acquired by MagnaChip), and Pixim (acquired by Sony). He designed and worked on integrated circuits that were widely used in security cameras, mobile phones, a variety of imaging applications, and quantum dot development platforms. Dr. Tian holds MS and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics from Stanford, as well as MS and BS degrees in Physics and Business from Tsinghua University. He has published over a dozen peer-reviewed technical papers, and received over thirty US patents.

Markus Wallgren– Vice President of Engineering
Markus Wallgren has 25 years of experience in engineering and product development. He started at Apple, where he pioneered turning off CPU power whenever possible, and for which he was awarded the first of his four patents in electrical power management. He went on to the nascent smartphone industry before entrenching in life science instrument development at various startups. In this capacity he accumulated broad experience in thermal management, fluidic control, and control theory. Mr. Wallgren holds BS and MS degrees, both from Stanford University.
